Tok Bahaman, Tok Janggut, Tokku Paloh Penyagak?

Namewee: Apabila hak asasi memupuk kebiadaban

Don’t half-bake FELDA listing

The listing of FELDA schemes is possibly for a stock exchange somewhere else, not necessarily the Bursa Malaysia.

Some put it as the work of a certain character, who had for some time been on the FELDA International Board of Directors, and privy to the good Prime Minister.

Other parties have expressed concern on this matter, and judging from what has been gathered, our source feels it is tantamount to political suicide to even attempt such an exercise.

This can be attributed to the fact that FELDA is a Bumiputera icon, which like MAS and Sime Darby, is potentially explosive if not properly handled.

Many have agreed that FELDA “is everyone or every Malay’s property,” if you know what it means.

There is an urgent need for more public discussions and deliberations before such an exercise be executed.

For one, the proposal MUST first be attempted involving a bigger and louder Malay intelligentsia. Academics, agronomists, economists, the EPU, professors, alumni members of associated bodies, etc MUST be consulted.

We do NOT need another hue and cry like what happened following the MASA-AirAsia deal.

The key is to be transparent and to show earnestness, as well as genuine motives for the good of those involved.

What dost thou thinkest?

RM100 juta tiap tahun utk sekolah Tamil, Cina & Kristian, tapi...

Zambry perlu ‘damage control’ tuduhan balak Temenggor –Belum

“He should be fortright and come clean, “ kata seorang pemerhati di Perak yang seolah-olah geram isu-isu yang tidak sepatutnya diajukan semata-mata kepada Zambry terpaksa dibebani beliau.

Israel, US leading world to doom?

It is predicted that the Neocons - (chief among them being Paul Wolfowitz and Dick Cheney, The Bushes, etc. are mostly Democrats, who now have Obama as their puppet President).

The democrats, who still dominate the US Foreign Policy, will persuade the USA not to support the application by Palestine to be a UN member. At least nine members of the UN Security Council which total 15 in all).

A rejection or failure by Palestine to join the UN as a sovereign state is expected to spark a wave of violence (some which will probably be goaded and staged by the notorious Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations, MOSSAD) among those still living in the holy land.

This may be seen as a planned event similar to the visit of Al Aqsa Holy Mosque by the Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon, which started the Intifada. Needless to say that another wave of anticipated violence by the people of Palestine will help speed up the disguised ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by the Israeli regime and its Big Brother the USA once again, perhaps this time with a much bigger number of human lives at stake.

This is typical of devious plans to provide Israel and the Jewish Diaspora with excuses to attack the Palestinians with a view of taking over the entire country in order to expand and repossess the Kingdom Of Solomon.

According to literature and videos on YouTube this is nothing. If even the twin towers of the World Trade Centre in New York can be destroyed and the blame pinned on Muslims and "rogue states" as a plan to provide Israel and its puppet, the USA with an excuse to rob and kill, we should brace ourselves for extended and increased violence in Palestine and the Middle East.

Many say the nuclear bombing of Iran anytime in the next year or so (after the regime changes in Libya, Egypt and Syria) is more or less on its way to being executed. World War III has started?

And how do we react to this in Malaysia?

ISA Repeal: Real Are the Reasons, Not Delay Tactic for Anyone's Benefit

So, they say it is better late than never, and this may come as a consolation to many who have rejoiced that the outdated laws such as the Internal Security Act (ISA) would be repealed as announced last week by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on the eve of Malaysia Day.

The reality is the repeal of the ISA, the Banishment Act and other legislation may take up to several months before it can be finalised for Parliamentary approval.

This was what Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said Wednesday.

The reason for this, according to Ismail was because the process needed discussions and forums with government departments, NGOs and law groups before the repeal can be affected.

Reality, indeed, as such procedures are never away and apart from the usual slow turning of the bureaucratic wheels.

What the IGP expounded would be only one facet of the painstakingly slow process, while at the parliamentary level it will be a different ball game, altogether.

This can be attributed to the fact that if the two Houses are to debate and vote on a resolution to annul, that process can be expected to take some weeks or months. This is because the Dewan Negara will probably convene only after the Dewan Rakyat’s lengthy budget session beginning in October.

So, therein lies the real reasons, and it does not have anything to do with any deliberate acts to short circuit the procedure for the benefit of any party.

Anwar at Christian Conference in Munich, Germany

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is in Munich, Germany to attend the "International Meeting of Prayer for Peace" from September 11 until September 13, 2011.
This was confirmed by Anwar himself via a tweet and in his official blog, anwaribrahimblog.com.

According to the munichtimes.com, the programme involving more than 400 participants from 60 countries is being organised by the Community of Sant' Egido with the cooperation of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising.

The Community of Sant'Egidio is a Christian community that is officially recognized by the Catholic Church as a "Church public lay association". It claims 50,000 members in more than 70 countries. Its main activities are:

* Prayer, centered around a reading of the Bible
* Spreading the Gospel to help people who are looking for a sense to their life.
* Service to the poor, which is free and unpaid
* Commitment to ecumenism (the Community of Sant'Egidio is also ecumenical, though being rooted in the Catholic Church)
* Dialogue with members of other religions and non-believers.

The Community of Sant'Egidio was founded in Rome in 1968 by a group of Roman high school students led by Andrea Riccardi. It is named after the Roman Church of Sant' Egidio (Italian for Saint Giles) in Trastevere, its first permanent meeting place. Since 1968, the community has gathered each night to pray and read from the Bible, reflecting on the Gospel, eventually spreading throughout the world with a mission of helping those in need.

And, so Anwar tweeted...

Anwar is scheduled to speak today, September 12 on "Humanistic and Religious Believers: an Agenda of Coexistence," at Residenz, Cuvillies-Theatre.

The de facto PKR leader is also involved in the 14th panel, which analyses the speech of Paul Poupard (Cardinal, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Holy See). Others on the panel are Riccardo Di Segni (Chief Rabbi of Rome, Italy), Simon Xavier Guerrend Hermes (president of Guerrand Hermes Foundation for Peace, France), Vincenzo Paglia (Catholic Bishop, Italy), Walter Jürgen Schmid (Ambassador of Germany to the Holy See) and Paolo Borzatta (Senior Partner of "The European House-Ambrosetti, Italy).

Anwar's speech is also posted on his official website, anwaribrahimblog. Cick here.
Others taking the rostrum in the programme, which was officiated by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christian Wulf, are Reinhard Marx (Cardinal, Archbishop of Munich and Freising), Horst Seehofer (Minister-President of Baviera), Shear-Yashuv Cohen (Emeritus Chief Rabbi of Haifa, Israel), Daniel (Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church) and, of course, Datò' Seri Anwar Ibrahim (Member of Parliament, Malaysia).

Also on the panel are Munib Younan (President of the Lutheran World Federation and Angela Merkel (Chancellor of the German Federal Republic).

Muib Younan was mentioned by Bishop Philip Lok (President of the Association of Lutheran Churches Malaysia and Singapore) as the person who co-signed the concord to guarantee the use of the word 'Allah' by Christians in Malaysia.

Angela Merkel is the President of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) which owns and operates its think tank Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS).

KAS is among the main sponsors for Anwar's think tank since 1984.

At the conference Anwar was introduced as "a human rights activist…father of the Asian Renaissance…and the main sponsor of the inter-faith dialogue in Asia."

Bkt Kepong: Whats the issue with the flag?

So, the intransigent lot sharing Mat Sabu's views asked what flag the police station at Bukit Kepong flew when they were attacked.

NO, no Union Jack was hoisted and the question is downright irrelevant.

And even if they did would it have changed their stand in defending their lives against the ruthless commies?

Chin Peng, too, proudly fought under the shadow of the Union Jack against the Japanese. Why, for someone raised in Sitiawan or Dindings, he would, invariably have been a British citizen singing God Save the King!

He even had the audacity to be present in London for the parade after the war and decorated by the British government. Although, the deal with the British did not go through, he nevertheless held on to his British Medals and went on wreak havoc on the people of Malaya, who were going against the British for independence.

No, it was not about a flag. It was about a struggle for the masses- for the majority who wanted independence. It was about being tactful and smart in doing so.

There had been nationalist flags at that time but they were quite covertly displayed for known reasons.

Had Chin Peng, Mat Indera and their cohorts had any balls they would have targeted the Malaya Command in Gurney Road, KL instead. But, no, they didnt have
any and chose Malayans and defenceless women and babies for slaughter!

This blogger stands firm in support of the brave cops at Bukit Kepong, although a kinsman, PKM's Musa Ahmad was my grand uncle. Such familial ties do not forgive what he and his band of bandits did to Malayans.

Why was Mat Indera at Bkt Kepong after seige ended?

Msiakini today reported that Mat Indera's brother, Johan claimed his brother was not involved in the attack and seige of the Bukit Kepong Police outpost. He also said it was Mat Indera who saved constable Yusof Rono.

Question: Why was Mat Indera at the scene post attack? Was he there to survey how thorough his band of communist bandits massacred the policemen and their families and razed the post to the ground? For what reason did he save Yusof if he saw the policemen as servants of the British colonialists? Very much a communist-like propaganda to act 'merciful'

Mat Sabu's Vicious Lies About a Ruthless Commie!

There have been lots of comments on Mat Sabu's statement in Facebook. These far outnumber the ones in blogs.

Opposition supporters in Facebook are quite active in posting comments to justify Mat Sabu's statement. These include a biodata of the communist bandit, Mohamad Indera or Mat Indera, portraying him as the son of an ulama' and a person of good character. Most of their comments are distortions of history. We cannot allow this to go unchallenged with facts and arguments.

This is an example of their comments:

(“Being a PR supporter, what I see as totally 'wrong' is for him to say that statement knowing very well how the media can mince words. His premise is right by the way.

British = bad guys;

1950 = pre-Merdeka, so in 1950, if you shot at people aligned to the British = you were fighting against the enemy)

This is their logic in portraying Mat Indera and the communist bandits as heroes and denying the contributions of Dato Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Sardon Jubir, etc. And in an attempt to get the perspective right they posted the above comments.

Since the end of World War II, the British plan for self-determination, i.e. independence for Malaya was already underway. We may trace this to the Sykes-Picot Secret Agreement, the plan for the creation of an Israeli state on Palestinian land which was well under way and had been their hidden agenda for some time. The British wanted to distract the Muslims of the Malay Archipelago from what they were implementing in the Middle East. It is indeed no sheer coincidence the British soldiers who were sent to liberate Malaya from the anti British Communists had prior to that served in Palestine! Many scholars today see a plan in tandem that both the British and the Dutch were trying to implement here in the Muslim Majority archipelago, i.e. to turn the sultanates into republics. Getting rid of the sultans was also like getting rid of the Muslim heads of states. But that is another story.

British plans to divide the Muslims everywhere soon became the Malayan Union here, which was to be the model for this country, in parallel with the efforts across the Straits to make Sumatra, Java, etc into republics, too. Many of the people here saw this as a blatant disregard for the religion of the locals, i.e. Islam, of which the heads were the Sultans. Making the
Queen the head of state here when she was also then Head of the Church of England was not acceptable.

These were among the major arguments of the Malays against the Malayan Union. The Malayan Union was objected by the Malays for these and other reasons about which we should know if we read our well documented history. Malay resistance to the Malayan Union gave birth to UMNO. The Sultans were pressured by the Malay public NOT to agree to the British plan to turn the country into a republic. Please watch Hati Malay, a movie by prolific Malay director Datuk Shuhaimi Baba that accurately depicts what happened.

After 1946, UMNO had become a political force to be reckoned with. That was why the British chose to negotiate with UMNO and not the others. The others, including the MCA and MIC followed the lead of UMNO, when it was obvious the British gave credence to the objection of the Malays. Besides, these others were afraid of what would become of their British citizenship status. Would they become nationless? Would the giving of independence to the Malay states deprive them of a legal status, etc?

Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya (PKMM) also tried to negotiate with the British, but due to its leftist ideology and obvious association with the communists, their attempt never saw the light of day. That was why PUTERA-AMCJA (All-Malaya Council of Joint Action) came up with the Perlembagaan Rakyat in 1947, which was an amalgamation of Malay-leftist and predominantly Chinese-communist aspirations for Malaya. But PUTERA-AMCAJA broke up soon after that. The semi-nationalistic aspiration of the Malay left could not sit easily with the communist ideology for very long. Their numbers were so few, anyway. The Malays then became very anti communist for a good reason. Communism denounced religion!

The break down of the Malay left-communist amalgamation left UMNO-MCA-MIC as the sole political force to be reckoned with during pre-independence Malaya. The negotiations went well and we soon gained our independence from the British in 1957, leaving our monarchy based system quite intact. Hence, the status of Islam was also not obliterated as feared. In fact there was already a faction within UMNO which later became PAS, who were most unhappy with Tunku’s agreement to grant citizenship to the Chinese and Indians and others of especially the Straits colonies. Get that? PAS was formed to protest against the giving of citizenship to the non Malays! So, let us not forget it.

So, no matter what Mat Sabu may be trying to say now, it is unbecoming of him to deny the contributions and sacrifices of Malay leaders like Dato' Onn Jaafar and Tunku Abdul Rahman in the struggle for independence. In fact their struggles were a reflection of the desire of the majority then.

Let us put our emotions aside, and let us get our facts right! History cannot be changed just as we cannot reverse time.

Additionally, Mat Sabu is today a member of the very party that OPPOSED the GRANTING of CITIZENSHIP TO THE NON MALAYS. So, who is he trying to kid? Ask any senior Malays from Kelantan or Kedah, and they will unhesitatingly confirm this. Artefacts may still exist in the form of older Malay newspapers (written in Jawi) that contain evidence of what I say here. If asking Utusan Melayu is a no-no for the blinkered lot, try the National Archives or even the British Records Office in London or the CIA archives, even! Wikileaks may not be privy to this, though.

What Mat Sabu said was just for political expediency, i.e. to be cynical towards UMNO. Once, like the older and probably mostly dead leaders of PAS, these members of PAS had refused to agree to the granting of citizenship to the non Malays. And neither is he one of the most articulate PAS politicians, nor an expert historian. So, we may forgive him for his utter ignorance, shallowness and untutored mind. Then again, he may not be ignorant, in which case he is simply a liar and will do anything to gain political power.

The question remains - can we trust a party like PAS? Mat Sabu's cynicism has distorted history (perhaps even deliberately) and has, therefore, caused uproar as well as created divisive debates among the Malays. We must hold him accountable for what he is trying to do. This is utter mischief!

Henceforth, it is therefore something that the enlightened, educated and responsible Facebookers and writers must do - i.e. to give the right perspective about the struggle for independence. If this is not done fast, once again mischievous personalities with dirty tricks will rise to deceive us all over again!

There is now no place in our society for narrow-minded chauvinism. The days of debate as to whether the Chinese, Indians and others of the Straits Settlements contributed to the economic growth of this beloved country are long over. They have all become citizens. They are now into their fourth or fifth generation. We must expose PAS for what it really stands for.

Mat Sabu has no principles. One day he can label Anwar Ibrahim as Al Juburi, now he is singing praises of that same person. Can we trust this guy? Tell the Facebookers the truth!

Noramfaizul died for our conscience

He died so that we can come to terms with our conscience in the face of millions of famine-stricken people hit by intense drought and the wrath of warring factions in Somalia.

Much have been said and speculated about circumstances leading to his death. Anything goes – from claims that he was not insured and that he died for some publicity-hungry groups.

Yes, anyone can say anything about it but no one can deny that he was there as a brave volunteer to bring home the news to this here parts from the lens of a Malaysian media videographer.

Whatever speculation that surrounds the circumstances of his death is secondary and should have no bearing on the fact that two children and their mother have lost someone they dearly love this Hari Raya.

To this writer, the late Noramfaizul is way above many of his compatriots in the local media fraternity. He has shown his courage and journalistic mettle by being there in Somalia where most members of the world’s media tread with acute trepidation, given the media death toll standing at 34 since 1992.

No word can describe the sadness this writer feels, given that my slogging via the information super highway, interpreting and analysing reports generated by video correspondents like him pales in comparison to his courage as the man-on-the-spot.

It is this courage in Noramfaizul that has initiated him posthumous into the Malaysia’s media hall of fame.

And so, to Noramfaizul Mohd Nor, only prayers and al-fatihah from this blogger at Lenggong Valley.

Thank you.
