The Badrul Hisham fiasco...really, Khalid?

It is all too easy to connect the dotted lines and say Badrul was bought over by BN...

But looking at the jealousies and infighting elsewhere in PKR, one should be cautioned to the fact that the integrity of that party, its leaders and its stalwarts is not beyond reproach. Hence, it is naturally accepted that Badrul and the others of his ilk may have really valid reasons for their fall from grace.  You mean to say that once they are in  PKR and inducted in the perceived hallowed but sneaky halls of Pakatan, they cant get out? Just reminds me of that runaway 70s hit by Eagles, 'Hotel California,' when the give away last line of the lyrics said, "...You can checkout any time you like, but you can never leave!"

There may be many interpretations to the whole meaning of the song - anything from simply literal to the bizarre , but back to Badrul Hisham, the rep for Port Klang, his political persona is not beholden only to PKR and Pakatan. They say '...there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics...' Well, right, this is just a an example of of the truth of that saying.

Badrul, or whoever can be perceived as jumping the people's (party's) trust, but going by the very spirit of his elevation as people's representative, what gives?

Lets get this straight. He campaigned and the end result was that members of his constituents believed in his cause, hence they gave the mandate to him to represent them. Giving mandate obviously meant that he has the right and authority to decide whats best for his constituency, even to the extend of jumping ship and swimming across to a safer vessel to fight another day for his beloved people.

Who are we to say that he had not thought out whats best for his constituents? Who are we to think that even Anwar (god forbid!) may revert to UMNO in due course?

The political ogre in our midst

Anwar: Some say he is an enigma. Some say his ways are a paradox, but I'd not hesitate to categorically state that he is a political ogre and a hypocrite.

Lets ask why and how he was readily admitted into UMNO from merely being a maverick and impetuous student leader that he was in the 70s.

Once in UMNO and the Government, his scheming ways soon found the creation of an inner circle of young but greedy Malay entrepreneurs and instant corporate types, being nurtured and manipulated by equally greedy Chinese godfathers who's devious track records are open for inspection across Asia..

These instant millionaires and billionaires pandered to his ambitions and grand design, while the people who had placed trust in him were deceived.

When everything came crashing own when he tripped on his sexual indiscretions, the devious schemer that is Anwar Ibrahim swiftly put to work all the strategies he had put in place and nurtured - strategies that covered anything from outright corruption to the selling of the country's soul to the devil.

Now that Anwar is riding high on the back of the Opposition, he found it easy to deceive all sides with his chameleon-like expertise. He never hesitated to walk the grounds of populism, promising hope when there is none, sowing discontent and breeding hatred.

A facet that many failed to ask or notice is while staunchly accusing the govt of sidelining democratic principles and lashing out at the judiciary with diatribes that run the spectrum of being kangaroo-like, affecting different sets of laws for friends and foes, he, nevertheless still hold on to those very democratic and judicial principles by partaking of the elections and resorting to the same legal system which he condemns.

Hence, we see the hypocrite, the diseased chameleon and the evil that he is...

Sivakumar hanya dilucutkan jubah...tiada pertunjukan bogel!

Siasatan segera PERLU dilakukan tanpa birokrasi berpanjangan. Mereka yang cuai perlu bertanggung jawab.

Nik Aziz dah makan diri

Nah...sekarang dah makan diri.

The factor in PKR's confused state of mind & Azmin's siege mentality...

Pakatan and pro-opposition bloggers were swift to invoke damage control as regards the latest developments in East Malaysia.

At the the centre of the controversy was Zaid Ibrahim, who was also rapidly moved into the middle of the cross hairs courtesy of the PKR chapters of Sabah and Sarawak...or so it seemed.

As the saga unfolded, detracting fingers immediately came up to point at Azmin Ali. Well, it is surely not by chance that his name was summoned to pit against Zaid Ibrahim. His feelings of insecurity for whatever reasons have always been at the core of many problems when it comes to matters relating to PKR's leadership.

Just look at Selangor. Observe how it was Azmin, whos name was revealed as the source of many a disgruntlement relating to MB Khalid Ibrahim. Using guerrilla political tactics, Azmin has sharpened his 'killing' skills to saturate the ground before making the coup de grace.

The same is happening in Sabah and Sarawak. Zaid's presence and prominence with regards to appearances in both states had again turned up the hairs behind Azmin's rubber neck. Just watch as the scene unfolds...the scheming character that is Azmin Ali only tells of the greed and skulduggery within Anwars PKR.

Tindakan Zaid Ibrahim bercuti 6 bulan dgn tiba-tiba...

Kita lihat apa berlaku selanjutnya...

Siege mentality is ok...

Khairy calls for the Malays to discard seige mentality?

Is it really siege mentality or an accepted form of modern survival (of the fittest)?

All countries and societies are not devoid of seige mentality. The rationale of having a standing army, ethnic laws, and right wing (or left wing political parties) to protect certain interests (openly or discreet) only show their state of mind.

Perhaps, Khairy as a person has yet to realise the pattern of offensives perpetrated by the non-Malays?

The fact tht we have UMNO, MCA, MIC, Makkal Sakti, and the NGOs focused on protecting certain things is evidence of the presence of siege mentality...western classical utopian ideas much dwelled and glorified at ivy league universities, Oxford and Cambridge are all but just lofty dreams of dreamers...

It is not such a mentality that pulls down or stops some Malays from progressing, it is their lethargy in the all out pursuit of excellence and the pandered mindset.

Siege mentality is even thicker within the Chinese and Indian societies. Just look at the various clans within the sino creed and the caste system among Hindus. More  often than not, defensive stance taken by these clans only reflect their aversion to the perceived or real incursions into their turf.

Pemuda's radicalism still needed

Going by UMNO President Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak and his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's speech at the 60th AGM of UMNO at the PWTC in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the leadership wants UMNO's focus be realigned in the light of the new political environment.

This sentiment was similarly echoed by by UMNO Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin in his policy speech at the pemuda Assembly today.

However, the effect of Khairy's call for UMNO Youth to embrace the mantra of Malay leadership instead of Malay supremacy is questionable.  He wants Pemuda to stop its radical stand and fall back a step behind that of the party's leadership.

Comments from Pemuda leaders carried rumblings about the youth wing needing to be radical and that they will not follow party leadership blindly.

Perhaps they need time for the idea to sink in, but we would think that given the strident voices of those outside UMNO, Pemuda's radicalism and intransigence are still needed.

Can UMNO's leadership convince the hot blooded young turks? This is about the reverse of trying to evoke awareness among the apolitical youths of Malaysia (all 4 million of them) to participate in the voting process.

Ku Li: better for UMNO to lose battle...

Umno veteran, and some say contrarian, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has raised eyebrows yet again with a statement that perhaps it would be better for the party to lose at Bagan Pinang.

For the good of the party, the dignity of the Malay community it claims to represent and for the sake of the nationwide reform in governance and politics that we must undergo, it would be better if Umno lost today, and used the loss to begin internal reform,” Razaleigh said in his latest blog posting.

Ku Li is not alone in his anger that the party’s current top leadership chose to select Isa Abdul Samad as its candidate in the Bagan Pinang by-election. Former Umno president Mahathir Mohamad has minced no words on the subject, even offering himself if the party had no other talent.

- Malaysian Mirror

NAJIB KUAT, TETAPI UMNO LEMAH!

Namun lima tahun dibawah Kepimpinan PM Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi menyaksikan gejala politik wang menular dan pemimpin hanya mementingkan diri sendiri.

You want to vote for an impotent opposition in Bagan Pinang? Think again...

Already trashed?

There is no such thing as an Opposition Front or Pakatan Rakyat...yet the people are cheated into thinking there is such a thing. Is it any wonder there is friction between PAS & DAP in Selangor, Penang and Perak?  Let me ask the leaders of PAS to ask themselves...what have you gained so far? Your supporters deliver the works at every by election, yet after that what have you gained? And what benefits are there for those who support PAS?

Since the last General Elections in 2008, do we realise that the majority of defections have been from the Opposition parties ? This has happened in Kedah, Selangor and of course, in Perak. What does this show? For one thing, even their candidates have not been properly scrutinised. And to think that Anwar Ibrahim had at one time threatened to form a new Federal government with defections from BN....it is is obvious he was simply calling a bluff. Remember he had promised a new government in September 2008? What happened? Nothing materialised, and instead the opposite has happened since then. I can assure they are fully aware there are many others on their side just waiting to leave the so-called pact of hate.

The Opposition leaders have given a lot of lip service to the idea of a more democratic scenario ...but can we not see the stark reality? Dr. Hassan Ali of Selangor is now faced with a real possibility of being expelled from the Exco. And that is just one example. Where is this democracy they talk about?

Let's not forget their boss is now facing a court trial for an unnatural crime....he is trying everything, including lobbying his masters in the West, to try to postpone the court hearing. Why? What is he scared of? So, should we accept a leader who cant even face trial in court? What kind of leader is this who will label anything and everything as bad when he is under threat? He labels all democratic elections in our country as rigged....how did he win his first elections in 1982? Perhaps he rigged it, too. Perhaps he also rigged the UMNO party elections and subsequently rose so quickly that it caused a major internal crisis in UMNO - a crisis that gave rise to Semangat 46.

Have we forgotten all these?

People who speak with forked tongues should not be accepted. They think they are leaders but what kind of leaders are these when they make promises they do not intend to keep?  Should we believe Nizar if he says PAS has no intentions of forming an Islamic state? He even claimed it was not in the party's (PAS's) constitution. Yet on the other, we recently read about PAS's spiritual advisor Nik Aziz unashamedly announcing that all those who did not vote for PAS would not go to Heaven. Can we ask him then if he thinks his friends in DAP cannot go to Heaven, too? How does he know?  And we have also read about Karpal's suggestion that Anwar should repent....but has Anwar repented? If the answer is not yet, what is Karpal going to do about it? Why does Karpal still remain within this so-called union of the most unikely bed-fellows? Sheesh, they are great actors and pretenders. So, realistically, why should anyone with the right frame of mind vote such people into power? Do not let such people insult your intelligence.

If the PAS candidate wins this Bagan Pinang seat, tell me frankly how will it strengthen PAS? Can this one win make PAS sit in the Exco? Can it be effective in the State Legislative Assembly? What difference will it make? Do you want to elect someone who can be an effective representative of the people in the state government or will you choose a candidate to make him sit in an impotent opposition at the state level?

Why Isa Samad? Read here...

Sekarang Anwar giat membantu bekas pembantu khas TS LIm Goh Tong meneroka peluang niaga luar negara.

Isa Samad & Victor Hugo's Les Miserables...

Given the vagaries of the political situation, Tan Sri Isa Samad looks like the most acceptable candidate for all in Bagan Pinang. This includes the Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli and the rest. Yes, believe it or not lots of Chinese and Indians in these parts give the thumbs up for Isa, as the most liked of the local boys who made it big. Beyond the boundaries of this constituency, it does not count. What matters in a by-election is for the folks to have their candidate of choice. Why should it matter elsewhere?

I do not for one condone corrupt politicians or anybody for that matter. This also goes to the electorates. SUHAKAM's expression of grave concern for the difficulty for prisoners to have an audience with the Pardons Board only tells us that the maxim 'once a thief always a thief' may not be true to the book. The culprit has done his penance and punishment, and who are we to stop him from redeeming his life as an exemplary citizen or leader? Ever read Victor Hugo's Les Miserables?

Perhaps, in the case of Bagan Pinang, Isa has come clean after he had undergone his suspension by UMNO's disciplinary board. This contrasts with Jean Valjean, the central character in Les Miserables, an ex-convict who assumed another identity and made good as a respectable mayor of a French town. The story expounds on the experience of redemption and examines the nature of law and grace. Such is the case with Isa Samad in Bagan Pinang, albeit his story is less dramatic and melancholy compared to that of Victor Hugo's.

UMNO was looking for a candidate with the most support. Isn't that the criteria in races,by-elections, notwithstanding? Forget the fantasy of holding high moral grounds - in politics, parties of all shades and colours are NEVER free of blemishes, no matter how hard they try. It is proven that Isa has tremendous goodwill and his relationship with the people in the area is beyond reproach. He will, no doubt, be given a resounding victory. In the real world it's almost always a choice between BAD and WORSE. Genuine Samaritans and angels do not get into politics.

Anwar was found guilty and went to prison, isn't that evil? Wouldn't that fail him as his people's choice of a political representative? And it is no secret that UMNO in Negeri Sembilan is facing quite a dilemma given the choices available. We want the people's choice and we get Isa, who fits the description and requirements. Some may squeak about personalities in the likes of Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan (although in reality it's not possible) as the 'suitable' candidate, but then again would you take chances, given that he was in the first place not the people's choice but a result of a top-down preference, which has since seen a lot of mending done by Dato' Seri Najib in the wake of his 1Malaysia, People First approach...And word has it that compared to Isa, Mohamad Hassan has proven to be much worse and downright incompetent as a leader in Negeri Sembilan. So much for his corporate experience.

As for the filth, muck and so on, lets turn our focus on the lot that is Pakatan.Do we still remember the extra-marital scandal involving PAS's Mat Sabu? Never mind that the scandal involved somebody else's wife, but the man is still among the chosen ones under Nik Aziz's patronage. What about the dark going ons allegedly involving clandestine dealings to siphon and channel public money into DAP's coffers in the Teoh Beng Hock case? What about the Elizabeth Wong scandal and Tian Chua, her ex-boyfriend? What about Ronnie Liu's stink that wafts from the alleged links with organised syndicates?Or even for that matter, what about the one about a PAS Youth Leader in Terengganu who was found guilty of rape?

The case that was Isa Samad pales in comparison to all these...
